The remnant marsh is classified as a place of "importance to threatened, endangered, and vulnerable species and ecological communities."〔 Humbug Marsh is located on the shoreline of the Detroit River, straddling the boundary line between Gibraltar and Trenton in southeastern Wayne County, Michigan.
